Information About Roommates

Find a Room-Mate

Have you ever been in a situation where your landlord has rented out a room in your house to someone who you just can’t get on with? They may have been messy, noisy, or just not your ‘type’. Over time this incompatibility may have affected your ability to relax and feel comfortable in your own home. By using FreeRoomShare’s ‘Find a room-mate’ option, this allows you to take back some control of who you will be living with.

FreeRoomShare’s ‘Find a room-mate’ option essentially allows prospective tenants to find ‘like minded’ people to property share with. This option allows tenants to search their area to find others with similar hobbies, interests & outlooks on life. We also have networking links through social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace which allow people to ‘make friends’ and ‘socialise’ online to determine compatibility. This may not only be used to find someone to share your property with, but also to make friends, especially if you are new to a particular area.

Room-Mate Awareness

FreeRoomShare does not take any responsibility for room-mate compatibility. This search option is provided for networking purposes in order for tenants to make their own judgement on compatibility with a prospective room-mate. All room-mate correspondence must be truthful and must not be deceptive in any way. All correspondence must abide by FreeRoomShare’s code of conduct. FreeRoomShare recommends that potential room-mates are interviewed, references received, deposits exchanged and contracts signed before property keys are made available. FreeRoomShare recommends that potential room-mates view the property and a mutually acceptable contract of tenant-ship is signed before a deposit is given.
