How to avoid email scams

FreeRoomShare is dedicated to making your experience with us as secure and successful as possible. We are vigilent to remove any potential fraudulent emails found in your inbox. However please see below examples of potentially fraudulent activity in order to safeguard yourself and we request that you contact us if you believe you have recieved any suspicious emails.


Landlord Awareness

Fake Cheques
    - Somebody sending a cheque for an excessive amount and requesting an immediate refund on the overpaid balance.
    - Taking an excessive time to clear (usually 3 weeks) giving a false illusion of credit in your account.

Fake Payments
    - Usually made through Western Union and is almost certainly some form of scam.
    - Beware of oversea payments!


Tenant Awareness

Deposits
    - Never send any payments without first viewing the room.
    - Never send any money through Western Union or any other third party payment system.
    - Always get a valid receipt when giving a deposit and ensure a contract is signed that clearly states your agreement.
